ASL- Arabic as a Second Language


The Arabic Language department for Non-Native Speakers provides opportunities to learn Arabic for non-native speakers of a variety of religious and ethnic backgrounds.

Objectives:

This department is independent of the Arabic Language Department, and it develops its mission, vision and goals as follows:

  • Teaching modern and traditional Arabic language
  • Teaching authentic Arab culture and heritage
  • Contributing to the acceptance among world cultures and promoting global tolerance and interaction
  • Providing opportunities for students to learn about the role of the Arabic language in human history
  • Enhancing the role of the Arabic language in developing an open global society


BA Scholar of Islamic Studies, Arabic Program


The Scholar of Islamic Studies program in Arabic provides rich opportunities to learn the origins of Islam from its original sources in the Arabic language, and it addresses new challenges and responsibilities in an international environment that does not understand Islam. It enables the personal development of individuals to understand the Qur’an, the Sunnah, the pillars of Islam, the pillars of faith, and advocacy with insight. It also enhances critical thinking and learning about Islamic culture and history, thus providing ample knowledge on the path and methodology of the Prophet.

 


BA in Arabic Language & Literature (BAALL)


The Bachelor Program of Arabic language and literature provides enriching opportunities for learning the literature of the Arabic language, addresses new challenges and responsibilities in a demanding environment where the quality of education is paramount. It enables the personal development of individuals in grammar, vocabulary, poetry, writing and speaking, and enhances critical thinking and learning of Arabic culture and history providing a life and professional experience. This is achieved through providing a comprehensive program that qualifies students to achieve personal goals, aspirations, based on their individual interests in the vast Arabic literature.
